Flight Dynamics

The project concerns the development of analysis and optimisation techniques for aircraft structures considering dynamic aeroelastic effects such as flutter. The main focus of the project is to model uncertainties related to external stores on military aircraft. The external stores often have complex shape and are attached to the aircraft with pylons and launchers that add significant complexity and uncertainty. The developed techniques aim at making it possible to use simplified models of the external stores and still make sure that the aircraft can be shown to be free from flutter in the flight envelope.
