Presently, T/R technology along with radar technology and signal processing for Airborne Early Warning system (AEW) have matured significantly, making high scannability and system architecture the most important of the remaining key characteristics. Both of these together constitute the main topic of the present study. ETK's part of the project is to research antenna elements that could be feasible in an AEW. This will include the development of the antenna element, to develop methods around the evaluation of the elements as well as testing together with Saab Microwave Systems.
